How do you remember architecture being demolished? By reassembling construction waste, Korean furniture designer Subin Seol presents how to remember disassembled architecture through tangible objects in our daily lives.
Seol has transformed handrails salvaged by Retrouvius from Fawley Power Station – South Hampshire’s demolished landmark, and designed a dining chair and a coffee table. By embracing the unique and irregular shape of the handrails, Subin’s pieces aim to retain the original building’s brutalist aesthetic, remembering and celebrating the old landmark’s heritage.
The collection was showcased at BASE Milano for Salone Del Mobile Milano in 2023.
