January in the Warehouse

As 2020 has come in the Retrouvius warehouse has seen some very interesting stock through the door.

These rare pieces of sculptural furniture - side tables made with thick cork from a single circumference of a tree sewn together with one seam. #2775, £495+VAT each.

An 18th Century baker's table with large single drawer and a single plank top - that would make a lovely side table or consol table. #2765, £3450+VAT.

We have had a good selection of carpets and rugs in - 
Like this c.1950s green Turkish Tulu - or long haired - carpet rug from Karapinar region #2773, £950+VAT,
and this beautiful ornate fine wool cream Persian Kashan rug with floral and fauna detailing, #2792, £1250+VAT. 

Recently we salvaged some of the most beautiful Venini lighting, including a spectaular 1.2m sq crystal candelier. 

We have 10 matching beautiful Venini manufactured wall lights with crystal clear hanging glass pendants from a gold plated brass frame. #2794, £445+VAT each

The Venini chandelier is made up from seven tiers of cascading crystal clear pendants, reminicient of Hollywood 1920s glamour. Bottom level has 324 solid glass crystal drops, top level has 120 crystals - over 900 in total. #2796, £12,500+VAT.

London Design Festival - Retrouvius - The New Craftsmen

This Autumn, The New Craftsmen presents ‘Ways of Seeing’: a collaborative project bringing together maker and interior designer. The New Craftsmen will invite three prestigious interior designer studios - Maria Speake, Founder of Retrouvius; Emma Burns, Senior Design Director at Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler; and Sasha von Meister and Tom Bartlett, Directors of Waldo Works - to explore the different ways they view and value craft.
