Rooms for bathing are essential in times of lockdown and often the only place in the house with a lock on the door. But where to put the “stuff” for pampering and indulging the senses?

Here are some of our design studio’s solutions to creating a calming and sensual atmosphere – and most importantly, a place for all bathing essentials; be it book, bubble bath or Beaujolais.

Old hand illustrated delft tiles make a decorative tray inlay.

Adam salvaged this brilliant piece of pink marble sanitary ware and we paired it with a small pine framed mirror and lighting from our warehouse collection.

A vintage enamel shelf offers a simple storage solution for bath oils. We re-used our client’s existing bathtub and had it re-enamelled on site.

A really good sized piece of vintage furniture re-used as a washstand is great way of adding storage and character and some pieces are easily adapted to incorporate small basins.

Bespoke boxing creates a sense of calm and doubles up as a shelf for bathing products and books, and offers a ledge to support larger vintage mirrors.

We adapted this simple Edwardian oak cabinet to hold a wash basin to match a re-finished antique bath. A vintage wall mounted shaving mirror from our showroom is space saving in a tight corner.

Recycled old shaving cream pots and jars creates a cheap and affordable Edmund de Waal display for the day’s unction.
