HAMPSTEAD PENTHOUSE PROJECT FEATURED IN BRITISH VOGUE
BY RETROUVIUS DESIGN

This recently finished project was a collaboration between RETROUVIUS and Bella Freud. Bella was commissioned to put together the art collection and RETROUVIUS collaborated with her on the interiors.

Its not always easy to introduce salvage and reuse to new builds. Our job was to bring the joys of patina, age, texture and a depth of interest and complexity that can often be missing — RETROUVIUS does this with old material.

Salvaged brass doors from a British university library connect into the main living space. Art Deco handles punctuate a panelled entrance hallway swathed entirely in suede to bring an acoustic sensitivity and a Domitilla Harding work in glass bathes from top lit light.

A bespoke cocktail cabinet of salvaged oak parquet offers the warmth of old timber at eye level.

Textiles are either vintage or natural and we sourced vintage furniture and lighting throughout.
